Welsh Tenants feature

Why you should join

Welsh Tenants has been providing support to tenants in Wales and acting as their representative voice for more than 25 years.

Membership is free for people wishing to learn more about their rights and obligations while providing a platform to shape current and future housing policy both in Wales and beyond. Welsh Tenants provide:

  • opportunities to network with likeminded tenants and share learning
  • support to shape policy and practice in collaboration with the sector
  • provide mutual support and encouragement to participate effectively
  • there to support tenants who are in difficulty

Welsh Tenants is embarking on a back to basics programme.

If you want to be part of a long history of support offered to people whom rent, be the best at doing this, and want to be part of a team of committed volunteers wishing to build a better support network for people whom rent regardless of their tenure or status, we would love to hear from you. There are people standing by that can share their experience of how they made a difference and how you can too.

The tenants’ voice

Welsh Tenants facilitates the Tenants Advisory Panel (TAP) helping to put the tenants’ voice at the heart of matters relating to the regulation of housing associations via the Regulatory Board Wales and the housing association regulation team. If you are interested in how regulation works, or want to help contribute to improving the sector Susan would love to hear tenants and the people who provide support to tenants.
