Tenant and Community Services for Housing

With our own specialist housing team, ORS is the leading housing research provider in Wales. We provide a comprehensive approach to housing policy and customer research.

What do tenants want?

Affordable housing is undergoing rapid and fundamental change, with the relationship between tenant and landlord being redefined.

In response, we’ve developed innovative approaches to understanding tenants and what they want. We’ve worked with affordable housing landlords across Wales and have a real understanding of the research challenges faced and the solutions available. Be it a simple survey or a complex social research project, our knowledge and experience of the sector underpins the work we do.

Our approach is based on simple premise – that tenants and communities matter – the more successful they are, the better life chances can be for those who live there now and in the future.

Housing markets – where next?

ORS are also sector leaders in understanding local housing market dynamics – what makes them work, what makes them fail, demand and supply issues and the impact of the wider economy. Our aim is to tell the story behind the numbers.

ORS has developed its own range of econometric housing market models – tested and proven model credible with both stakeholders and inspectors. We’ve completed Housing Market Assessments for more than 100 planning authorities across Wales and the rest of the UK.

With housing facing so many challenges – for our ageing population, our young people, changes in housing benefit, budget pressure for those needing support, too few new homes being built – we can provide clarity and focus as well as providing evidence to ensure your local planning policy is robust.
