Housing Stock Condition Surveys: a new research area for ORS

Opinion Research Services has recently established a research team of well-known and respected specialist consultants, which extends the range of housing services that ORS offers to local authorities and RSLs.
Alongside consultation work, ORS will now provide Housing Stock Condition Surveys and LA and RSL training covering a range of Housing Standards and legislation.

ORS’ new colleagues – John Easey, Ed Diment and Ian Woodward – have many years of experience between them in conducting Housing Stock Condition Surveys. They have also worked with clients to review and refresh housing policies and strategies, and can provide interim management support to develop and deliver such strategies.

Building on Experience

Working together, our new colleagues have undertaken surveys for more than half of the local authorities in England and Wales, and have gained a deserved reputation for excellence. The methodology they have developed responds to clients’ needs for excellent customer service, timely completion of fieldwork, and informative and accurate reporting of results.

They also have extensive experience of working with other agencies, such as CLG and the BRE.

Integrating with the ORS Team

These colleagues extend and strengthen the range of quantitative and qualitative analysis ORS is able to provide. Their individual skill sets coupled with the existing skills across our wider research team place ORS at the forefront developing alternative and innovative sampling strategies to provide cost effective ways to deliver stock condition surveys, while retaining the quality necessary for statistically robust reporting.

Clients now also have the ideal opportunity to achieve better value for money by commissioning a range of services from a one-stop-shop.
