Estate services event returns to Wales
Last year Cardiff played host to a HouseMark Estate Services event. The event brought together the best speakers from HouseMark’s regional Estate Services Clubs that meet on a regular basis in both the North and South of England, as well as high profile speakers from within Wales. The event proved so popular that a number of Welsh customers joined our Estate Services Clubs in England. To make sure that housing colleagues in Wales don’t miss out on issues covered by our Estate Services Clubs, we will repeat the Welsh Estates Services event on 4 July 2012 in Cardiff. Confirmed speakers so far include:
- Firebrake Wales – to talk about risk factors for fires, their prevention and the respective roles of landlords and tenants, and the fire safety support FireBrake Wales can provide
- Landmark – to talk about GIS mapping and the importance of knowing what your green assets are
- Mears – to talk about ‘in-sourcing’ as an alternative to tendering out estate services
- Liberty Services – to talk about the problems regarding car parking on estates
Martin Asquith, HouseMark’s Manager for Wales said ‘last year’s event was really popular, and with some top quality speakers already confirmed and with a couple more still in the pipeline, I’m hoping that this year’s event will prove even more of a success.’
Attendance at the Welsh Estate Services event costs £150 plus VAT per delegate and bookings can be made by contacting Manveer Hundal, via email manveer.hundal@housemark.co.uk or by telephone on 024 7647 2701.

Estate Services is one of the largest areas of expenditure for most landlords and achieving services that deliver good value for money is essential. Working with a number of landlords, HouseMark has developed a new Estate Services Value for Money Toolkit. The Toolkit looks at a range of performance indicators to help landlords see the cost, productivity and quality of differing elements of the service. Participants receive workshops before and after the exercise, a tool kit to help data collection and entry and a bespoke report analysing their results with specific recommendations for improvement. Participation in the Tool Kit costs £2,950.
To sign up to the service or for more information contact Lynn Dexter, via email lynn.dexter@housemark.co.uk or by telephone on 024 7630 3748 or 07967 676767.
