Keystone is one of the sector’s greatest recent success stories. Having entered the market in 2003, offering a fresh and innovative approach to asset management solutions, Keystone is now used by nearly 100 social landlords UK-wide, to manage over a million assets.

Wansbeck Homes (part of the Bernicia Group) have been users of Keystone since 2004. Having started with Keystone’s asset management module, they subsequently extended their use of the suite to include Keystone’s asbestos register, and then the system’s planned maintenance module. With the breadth of functionality that Keystone provides, the organisation has been able to carry out complex analyses of their stock condition data, and to efficiently compile and manage extensive programmes of capital maintenance works.

Since going live, Keystone has become an indispensable tool for Wansbeck, playing a pivotal role in formulating the business plan of the organisation, and helping to project future costs and budget requirements. ‘I don’t know how we would have achieved these things without Keystone’, says Neil. ‘Probably we would have needed to employ external consultants. With Keystone, we can effectively keep control over costs, manage large programmes of work, monitor overspends, and share key information both within the organisation, and with partners’.
