Wales’s ‘resilient and highly innovative’ social housing sector is set to take centre stage at Community Housing Cymru’s industry-leading annual conference.
The event is set to take place on November 28 and 29 at Techniquest in Cardiff Bay with leaders from across Wales’s social housing sector set to attend.
Keynote speakers, panellists and experts will also share their knowledge during the two days, with previous speakers including minister for climate change Julie James MS, and Change Please CEO and founder Cemal Ezel.
The conference will give housing association leaders and staff, partners, and many others the chance to discuss wide-ranging challenges across the sector and how they can work together to face these, analyse the political and economic issues facing social housing, and discuss the operating environment across the UK.
Guests will also get the opportunity to discuss how they are helping to tackle inequality and poverty which has been exaggerated by the cost of living crisis and share best practice on how they are supporting people living in their homes.
During the event, Stuart Ropke, Community Housing Cymru’s chief executive, will highlight housing associations’ resilience, while utilising innovation and partnership working to help the sector take crucial steps forward.
He said: ‘The social housing sector has undeniably faced unprecedented challenges in the past few years – from the coronavirus pandemic, to the UK leaving the EU, and the cost of living crisis and inflation – all of these have had a substantial impact on the sector and its partners.
‘Despite these varied challenges, housing associations in Wales have proved to be resilient and highly innovative.
‘Not only have they come together to share best practice, but they have utilised the knowledge of sector partners and those who live in their homes, to enhance their services and deliver housing that meets the evolving needs of their tenants and communities.’
