Dr Peter Williams will deliver the WHQ 100: 25th anniversary celebratory lecture at Cardiff University on Tuesday, November 17.
Spaces in the main room are now fully booked but the event will be broadcast on screen in the Council Chamber if you would like to join us. The event starts at 5.30pm in the Glamorgan Building. Find out more about the lecture >>
The lecture is titled ‘Taking the long view 1990-2040; rebalancing the state and the market’ and will reflect on where we are on housing policy and the housing market in the UK today.
This lecture will reflect back on where we were in 1990 (when WHQ was first published) and then consider the current situation before moving on to speculate where we may be in 2040. As this might suggest, the focus will not be on the detail of policy or practice but rather on the structural changes that are working their way through and which have profound consequences for housing choices and the housing system.
Dr Peter Williams is Departmental Fellow at the University of Cambridge, Centre for Housing and Planning Research, Department of Land Economy. An article based on his lecture will appear in the next WHQ.
The lecture will be chaired by Ms Antonia Forte, Chair of WHQ Advisory Board. The event is sponsored by Principality Commercial (part of Principality Building Society)
